Really excited about the Nascar options in North Carolina we live an hour away from two different tracks (Martinsville and Charlotte).

This is a soda machine from Which Wich (a sandwich shop) in Dallas that has 114 different flavors of soda. I only managed to try six different flavors and then visited the boys room every hour on the hour after lunch.

We went for a Sunday afternoon drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway, a popular scenic drive from the Carolinas to DC. It wasn't the best weather, but it was nice to get out and go for a drive. I told Kaden this was where Abe Lincoln camped during the war and then had to make up stories for all the questions that came out of curiosity. Drue can't wait to go again in a couple of weeks to see all the fall foilage.

Kaden and I have been super excited to go out and watch a college football game so we went while Uncle Mike was in town to watch Army vs Duke and Duke lost 35 - 21. They were terrible, but we had lots of fun!

I think the Blue Devil is wondering why his team stinks so bad.

Happy Birthday Ryleigh! One more year and she will be a teenager! Yikes!

They are all dying to blow out the candles!

They all got a turn at blowing them out. Lucky Kamry didn't start her hair on fire!

Ryleigh thought for her Birhday she needed to go to Texas Roadhouse for dinner. No complaints from her mom that's just one less meal she has to cook. So they put her on the saddle and gave her a Birthday "Yee-Haw". Kind of korny, but I guess kids like that stuff.

Hey O! What's the odds of Uncle Mike coming into town for Ryleigh's Birthday! Slim to none, but he managed and Kamry would rather sit on his lap and drink his soda for him than sit on her chair and eat her food.

So I will be spending half my working hours in the next year at Krispy Kreme's headquarters learning about the donut business. Dunkin donuts are not even a comparison to Krispy Kreme donuts.

Obviously when I am not at work we try and incorporate the three letter word "FUN" into our work/life balance. So we hit up the Central Carolina state fair.

We need another trip to Six Flags!

Kamry has a hay day on the rides. I think she could ride them all day and she gets pretty brave. I take credit for teaching her to put her hands up and say "Holla!" on the rides, but I don't like to watch it when I am not on the rides with her.

Can't believe Drue has taught Kamry to drink out of the jug. I mean really?

First week in NC!

So we get here and I am talking on the phone outside and see this critter run out of the grass onto the pavement. Scared the...well it died!

Not sure why we moved to NC Kamry blends right in with the homeless people in NY. With a little dirt on her face she probably could have made more money sitting in Time Square in one day than I made in a month.

Kamry found a friend in the Wal Mart parking lot trying to get out of the bricks, we are in Shenandoah Indian territory now.

The Greensboro Grasshoppers are a single A team that got slaughtered by the Savanna Gnats. PwC has six tickets four rows up behind home plate up for grabs so we grabbed the second to last home game of the season. That was sure fun with the kids. We even got the mini bats - the kids had no idea how well they work for spanking sticks, but now I can't find any of them.

Making the move

So I officially convinced the family to make another move for the third time in three years. Going South! Through PA which is West and we are not wanting to go that way!

Through a small section of Maryland, not stopping there either! Ya'll should have seen Drue try and take a picture of this State sign when we entered the state. We had to turn around when we hit WV to get Maryland because she missed both State signs.

Through a small section of West Virginia, not quite far enough South!

Hey O! Virginia, let's keep going!

Oh look, no one will even know we didn't stop in Virginia.

So we ended up passing by Virginia 31 miles into North Carolina in a small town Greensboro, NC. As you can see we landed in the dark so no picture of North Carolina State sign.

Fun With Grandma

I am new at this blogging thing. This is actually the first post that I have written, Dave has done the rest, so I guess I will try it. We just had a fun week with my mom. It was so nice to have someone to talk to during the day and the kids loved having her around. We didn't do anything real exciting. We went to the circus and just enjoyed each others company. We took my mom to the Bishop Storehouse on Saturday to show her what we do there. My mom and I also went to the mall, it was nice to go with someone, I haven't been to the mall only 2 times since we moved here, so that was fun. I thought about taking my mom into NYC, but I really have no desire to go in unless I absolutely have to, so we never made the treck. Kamry insisted on calling her papa the whole time she was here and anytime my mom would say, "Kamry say grandma" Kamry would smile proudly and say, "Papa." She obviously is a tease. Kaden and Ryleigh took turns sleeping with Grandma every other night, it was fine until the last night that my mom was here because Kaden decided to throw up all over the bed, himself, and my mom. There is nothing like cleaning up throw up at 2a.m. Oh, the joys of being a mother. The kids were very sad when they woke up and Grandma was gone. It was so good to have her here and I now feel like I can survive another few months on my own. To any of you who want a vacation without paying for the hotel rooms we are here, but your time is running out. We are not planning on living here forever.
